The comfortable 4-0 victory against the Netherlands was a joy for everyone involved. The atmosphere in the Weserstadion rounded off a "perfect German evening."

The 32,398 spectators were already celebrating before the halftime whistle. "Oh, how wonderful this is," echoed from the packed stands of Bremen's Weserstadion from the 40th minute onwards. The German team had won over its supporters. The German national team was already 3-0 up after 45 minutes thanks to goals from Linda Dallmann (9th minute), Lea Schüller (25th minute), and Sarai Linder (45th minute). And quite deservedly so. The Dutch were helpless and overwhelmed by a German team that applied fierce pressure from the start.
The constant German pressure continued seamlessly in the second half: Lea Schüller headed home the 4-0 lead in the 48th minute. At times, the Dutch were mere stunned spectators as they watched the German players, who could have scored significantly more goals. In the end, Germany had ten chances, but the Dutch only threatened goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger once—in stoppage time.
It was the best home game we have played in Germany so far.
At the end, the German team was duly celebrated. "Every player enjoyed being on the pitch. It was the best home game we've played in Germany so far," said a delighted Dallmann, who was one of the best German players in the strong team. "We wanted to put on a good performance for the large crowd. The support in the stadium was exceptional. It was a perfect German evening," Christian Wück also enthused.
Wück sees "most consistent game"For the national coach, it was "the most consistent game" of his tenure. "The team is growing together. We're on the right track." Striker Giovanna Hoffmann , who came on for double-goal scorer Schüller after 55 minutes, even announced "that we haven't played to our full potential yet."
The German team's dress rehearsal before the European Championship in Switzerland (July 2-27) will take place on Tuesday (8:30 p.m.) in Vienna against Austria, before the players head off on vacation. The national coach will announce his final European Championship squad on June 12. A difficult task. Wück: "I'll have to hurt some players." He said he has largely found his starting lineup after the success in Bremen.
